New GMD Features! By R1CH - Thursday, June 24, 2004
I've updated the quick map download script at the top of the page to allow for searching by partial map title and map names without .bsp on the end. So if you wanted to grab Saig's revised version of Chokepoint Jamboree (2.3MB), you could type in 'chokepoint', 'choke-b', 'jamboree' or 'choke-b.bsp' and it would find it. If there are multiple hits, you will be given a list to choose from.

There is also an FTP user counter just underneath the quick map download - if this is showing full (ie 5 / 5 users) then you may not be able to download maps immediately. Click the counter to refresh it - after a few minutes space should be available on the FTP server.

Speedmap Competition V By Cataclaw - Monday, June 21, 2004
Speedmap V is over and the maps are in! All in all, 10 maps were accepted and deemed playable. Download the map pack (2.6mb).

The results will be posted soon.

UPDATE: If you downloaded the pack prior to 1:25AM EDT on Tuesday morning, redownload it as it contains an additional map (ac1speed) that was submitted late.

GMD now hiring! By Cataclaw - Tuesday, June 8, 2004
Would you like to write reviews for the GMD? We're currently looking for 1-2 new GMD map reviewers (or as we like to call them, "map monkeys".) To apply, you must:

1. Be a veteran gloomer in good standing
2. Have some knowledge of maps and mapping techniques
3. Write up a sample review for us to evaluate. Your review must be complete and must include all of the categories GMD reviews use.
4. Tell us briefly why we should pick you.
